In 1969, José de Melo and his wife, realizing the tourist potential of Balneario Camboriu, began the construction of a small Hotel on Avenida Brasil. Coming from humble families and with the help of some bricklayers, in January 1970, just 6 months after the beginning of constructions, the hotel opened its doors to receive tourists from a variety of Brazilian states.
Some years passed until in 1975, at the age of 37, in a tragic car accident, José passed away. With much suffering and grip, his wife had to run the Hotel on her own, in addition to raising her 5 children, who were between 4 and 15 years old at the time.
Over time, the children began to help with hotel chores, the eldest son ran the hotel until 1990. From this year, he started his own business and the middle son took over, but still accompanied by his mother's strong wrist.
The city grew year after year and the Hotel had to follow this evolution constantly undergoing extensions and renovations, improving facilities and prioritizing good service, the last one being one of the key points for the success of the Hotel.
Today, the hotel is managed by the society of two of the five brothers, along with a staff of which they are proud of their excellence.
In the year of 2020, the Hotel will celebrate 50 years of existence! These are 50 years of great struggle and persistence, but especially of great joy in being able to provide its customers moments of pleasure, comfort and happiness. Despite the age of the hotel, members are always up to date with today's rapidly changing market and are seeking to bring a modern and practical experience to their guests.
